Snapia
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: June 1, 2025
Snapia (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application. By using Snapia, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Precise Location
○ With your permission, we collect GPS-level location data to provide contextual information about nearby landmarks, cultural points of interest, and language translations.
2. Coarse Location
○ If you decline precise location, we may collect approximate (city- or region-level) location data to tailor language and content recommendations.
3. Photos or Videos
○ When you snap or import an image/video, we process it solely to recognize text, translate it, and generate cultural or historical context.
4. Product Interaction
○ We record how you interact with the app (e.g., which buttons you tap, how long you stay on a screen) to improve our user experience and optimize feature design.
5. User Identifier (User ID)
○ We generate a random, non-personally identifiable UUID for each user session, which lets us remember your settings and preferences across uses without linking to any personal account.
|
We do not collect or share: • Your contacts, calendar, or unrelated photos/videos • Any data for third-party sale or marketing |
• Core Functionality
○ Translate and explain text in snapshots of menus, signs, artworks, and monuments.
• Product Improvement
○ Analyze interaction to refine features, fix bugs, and optimize the interface.
• Customer Support
○ Diagnose issues when you submit feedback or error reports to deliver timely help.
• Location Permissions
○ You may enable or disable “Precise Location” or “Approximate Location” at any time in your device’s settings. Disabling both will limit location-based personalization but not core translation features.
• Photo/Video Access
○ You always control whether Snapia can access your camera or photo library.
• Data Deletion
○ To request deletion of your anonymous User ID and associated data, email support@star-mission.com
• Opting Out of Tracking

• All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest on secure cloud servers.
• Access to production data is restricted and audited regularly.
• Anonymized performance and crash logs contain no personal identifiers.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective Date” at the top will change to reflect when a new version takes effect. Continued use of Snapia after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
